Skinfood: Milk Mania Cleansing Foam Review

Hi everyone! I missed you so much! April and May had been crazy! There was so much heat in my country that even if you sit still , you’d perspire! It’s the horribly high temp (35-27 degrees) plus 100% humidity. >.> The downside in living in a tropical country.

So it’s rather important that you should assess your make-up and skin care arsenal – to ensure they match your weather, wherever you may be right now. For hot and humid weather (like here!) it’s good that you keep light warpaint make-up on, and a nice cleanser and light moisturizer at night.

With this, I introduce to you one of my HG facial foams – Milk Mania Cleansing Foam from Skinfood!

Skinfood describes their product as:

Speial food ingredients for the skin.
Contains many nutritive ingredients such as fresh plants, fruits, etc, to keep our skin healty.

A foaming cleanser that contains milk protein and helps moisturize skin.

To use: Gently massage foam onto dampened facial skin, avoiding eye area. Rinse well with tepid water.

I go this off a mall store for P472.5 ($10.77), and this was the discounted price (10%) from the mall store. For a tube type worth 150 ml and knowing that Skinfood is a low-end brand in S. Korea, this is rather expensive. You may want to purchase it from an online reseller (but be careful for face ones!) or from a relative or friend straight within S. Korea.

I find the packaging rather ok. Your facial foam is within a rather matte tube, while the prints are rather simple yet classy – as how Skinfood would present their products. It also has a nozzle, which is just all too common. Nothing special here.

When dispensed, the foam is pearl-white substance. And yes, it has a scent. But not your regular Skinfood notes, but it smells like milk that had been puked by a newborn. It’s that awful especially if it’s your first time to try this.

Upon massaging it (with water!), it’s a little foamy, but not as foamy as your regular or Korean foams. It’s still creamy white and the smell is still there. Too bad. And a tad of cleansing foam goes a long way.

But what lacks from its  physical features, it compensates with performance. This never broke me out, and it does a great job at cleansing. I do get that subtle squeaky clean finish – which I do love! It’s also slightly good at removing residue make-up, as long you keep it away from your eyes. And it has a pretty good reason too. This facial foam hurts my eyes if it gets way too near. I experienced this again when I started to use this after a very long time. But after few uses, you’d get used to it.

Will I recommend this? For normal skin types and for light make-up days, you might want to check it out. For a 150ml tube with of goodness, it ain’t bad.  It cleans rather well, slightly brightens my face a little and a little drop a goes way. But if you’re rather sensitive to scents, does not like eyes getting hurt, and looking fr the best oil control, then you should think twice.

So do you like this product? Please do let me know your thoughts!
