Good Day! And a belated Happy New Year to you! I missed posting for say…. 4-5 months? I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff like work, personal life, and gaming. Come to think of it, I’ve been going out a whole lot less lately due to gaming. Hehehe.
So to start of with the my first post of the year right, I’d go to the product I love dearly. It’s Benefit’s the POREfessional Primer.
I came across this over my fave make-up blogger years back. I got so curious so I asked a friend of mine to get me a set with this primer and their popular tint in the US. And the rest is history.
Note to reader: This is a picture-heavy post.
Here’s how Benefit describes their primer from their website:
Quickly minimize the appearance of pores & fine lines for smoother-than-smooth skin! Apply this silky, lightweight balm alone, under or over makeup. The translucent formula contains a vitamin E derivative known to protect skin from free radicals.
- Complements all skintones
- Helps makeup stay put
But… They describe a whole lot more on their packaging!
Phew! What I adore about Benefit is they put a lot of thinking to come up with fun, catch product concepts. I can’t recall how much I got my full size POREfessional. I got it from a set, worth $32 (?). In my country, if you buy it in the mall, I think this costs somewhere between P1,500-P2,100 ($32-$45.55). I’m a bit confident it is leaning towards P2,100 ($45.55) than P1,500 ($32). Crazily expensive, right?
POREfessional is housed in a green matte tube, with 22ml of product. It has a screw-on cap, which is nothing really special. Its nozzle is flat, like how your normal tube primers would be. For the other sets, normally, Benefit gives them in deluxe sizes.
On to the product! It is a slightly scented, honey colored primer.
When applied, it evens out nicely. The scent lingers a bit, which I don’t mind. In fact, I love the scent- soft, flat, powdery scent. Those with sensitive noses may or may not enjoy this. As for being honey colored, it doesn’t seem to have any odd impact on my skin. It hides minor problems – such as obvious pores, little red bumps and evens out my skin tone.
As you can[not] see at the back of my hand, it seemed barely there! On skin, it has this matte feel, which I really love. It made my face less oily on days I needed it (but still needed to blot oil of my face in the afternoon).
How does it fair with holding my make-up? For my powdered blush or cream blush, it makes it last whole day! I don’t need to retouch. For those very particular with color, you may see the need to retouch a little after 6 hours, I think. It also makes me look fresh till the afternoon. This is in assumption you primed well, and you also settled your make-up with a good powder. I top it a bit with Benefit’s Hello Flawless! Powder Cover-up (which is a good product to, by the way). When I try to remove it at night, using a good make-up remover, I still see remnants of my blush, concealer and bb cream. Sometimes, I don’t see the need to put bb cream when I want to go light on my face and have this on.
Good part: It doesn’t break me out! ❤ Loves this!
Would I recommend it? If you’re not sensitive with silicon type primers and scents, this is for keeps. It makes your make-up last on your face long, got great matte coverage, evens out minor/minimal skin problems and won’t break you out. Lovely packaging and even has some sort of instruction guide on how to use. How cute is that! Great job on this one, Benefit! This one’s a keeper in my stash. If only they sell this cheaper in my country…Hmm… Or I can get my grandaunt to buy me one in US! She’ll be flying over here next month. ❤
On other things, I want to go online and play now. 😦 There had been a lot of movements in my guild (inactive friends, but there are a handful of new members) and even server-wise. There will be a huge WvW update on April 19, so I’m looking forward to it. 😀 And work – it’s been pretty tough lately. Sigh.
